This is Louie’s first recording for the flourishing Fania record label, back in 1965, and launched a very successful career for the accomplished vibraharpist, pianist and percussionist. In addition, Louie was the most sought after musical arranger in the Salsa and Boogaloo genres. He was a bandleader who recorded for several companies during his illustrious career. Louie was well-liked by those who knew him. He had a keen sense of humor, often impersonating musicians and executives he knew personally. Towards the end of his career Louie produced recordings for Fania Records and was part of the Fania All Stars orchestra which toured the world. Singer Manny Roman does an excellent job on the vocals. Manny went on to record for Decca and other labels and was frequently used on producer Richard Marin’s recordings. Louie Ramirez was born in 1938 and died in 1993.
